Robin Martin is the Progressive Conservative candidate in Eglinton-Lawrence, a riding in which she has lived and been active for over 20 years.
Robin is running in this election so that everyone has an opportunity to reach their full potential. As a mother of a child on the autism spectrum, she is a passionate advocate for quality education that ensures that no child is left behind and values the different gifts each child has. Robin believes that a government that wastes money is a government that wastes the precious opportunities of its people, present and future. Moral, responsible government should never forget that it serves the people, not the other way around.
Robin loves her community and is a proud volunteer for numerous causes and charities. One of her proudest achievements was working with CCSIF to get a universal cancer-screening program adopted by the Ontario Government – the first of its kind in Canada. This program has helped save lives in Ontario. Locally, Robin provided free legal services to the local Ratepayers’ Organization and volunteers for them. She also raises money for the Heart & Stroke Foundation and many other worthy causes.
Robin holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Toronto. Prior to that, she earned her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts from McGill University, studying overseas for a year at the L’Institut d’Etudes Politiques in Paris as part of her masters program. She practised litigation for over a decade at Lenczer Slaght and Osler before turning to public policy and advocacy. She served as a policy advisor to an Ontario Minister of Health, a consultant at a leading government relations and communications firm, and a senior manager with Atomic Energy Canada Limited.
At a personal level, Robin has been married for 28 years to her high school sweetheart, Jon Martin, and has a son and a daughter. Robin is fighting to make sure that all of our children have a brighter, safer future in Ontario.
